To quote a lyric from a Black Sabbath song, “I’m going through changes.” But change can be a very wonderful thing. I’ve changed the covers of the books in the Our Lady of Righteous Rage series, and that was a good change. In fact, I’m changing the cover of the fifth book in the series…again.
I wasn’t very happy with the first cover I created for Forward Motion, and I wasn’t really happy with the second one, either. I figured it would be one of those things I would eventually get around to fixing, when I could finally think of how I wanted the cover to look. With the next book in the series (Louder!) on the horizon, I’ve been thinking about the direction I want the next few books work towards. After making some sketches I finally arrived at a cover I could be happy with.
This cover is less complicated, but in a good way. The top images of Rob and Amy from Our Lady were drawn on a single sheet of paper, while the images of Nick and Aidan were on two separate sheets which were later superimposed. I decided not to color any of the images and let the blue background stand out more. The treble clefs are courtesy of Canva.
So hopefully this will be the final edit. I’m waiting for KDP to approve the changes I made, but the book should reappear on Amazon with the next day or two. That’s one of the reasons I have chosen to continue to publish with KDP: I can always go back and make changes to my books if I need to.
