10th Anniversary of “Fortune’s Wing”

If you’re an indie author, one of the most exciting moments in your life, is the day you get to see something you wrote, make it into print. Publishing a book, is a BIG DEAL. While there are a few naysayers who don’t believe self-published authors are real authors, I strongly disagree. A published book is a published book, no matter who the publisher is. Writing is a passion of mine, and has been an important part of my life ever since I learned to write. Publishing a book, was a childhood dream. So, when a copy of my first published book landed in my hands, needless to say, I was very excited.

I wrote the original Fortune’s Wing back in 2002. I searched for a publisher and a literary agent for a few years, but my search turned up empty. I began to think, I would never get my work into print. Then, I decided to try self-publishing. I found a company called Xlibris, which offered different publishing packages and was known as a “Print-On-Demand” company (or, POD). It cost me a pretty penny to get the job done, but in May of 2009, Fortune’s Wing finally made it into publication. The artwork featured on the cover of this first edition is mine, and I was happy to see my name on the cover of a book!

So, here we are, ten years later, and there are three published books in the Fortune’s Wing series. I have 25 published books under my belt, and I’m working on more. I have since changed publishers, and I’m currently using Amazon’s Create Space/KDP.  This was my first book, first series, and I’m very proud of it. This month, on my website, Woolaston Entertainment, I’m offering the books in the series for half price, and this includes the Bundle. Of course, you can also purchase the books from Amazon and Barnes and Noble But they won’t autograph it for you. I will.
