December 2019 marked the tenth anniversary of the first book I ever published: Fortune’s Wing. Originally written in 2002, it became the first of a three-book series about a young man who learns he’s part of a prophecy to either save or destroy the world.  The first time I wrote the story, I didn’t have an audience in mind. It was the product of a love of anime, manga and fantasy. Later, when I began to rewrite it for publication, I decided I wanted it to be appropriate for middle school age readers.

A few changes were made to the story when I published it. Nirogetai’s name was changed to Narumi. A character was eliminated and another character’s sexual orientation was changed. After I completed the third book in the series, I came up with a few new ideas for the story. However, my ideas were for a much older audience. Over the years I’ve been tooling around with ideas for a new version of the story: a single book, for the eighteen and older crowd, titled, Fortune’s Wing: Revamp. I’ve kept this idea on the back burner, since other stronger ideas emerged, were written and published. It’s been on my mind lately, and since I’m celebrating Fortune’s Wing this month, I’m making a few notes concerning where I want the story to go. 

Even though the story is written for a younger audience, I’ve had readers of all ages read it and enjoy it. All three books are available on Amazon and Barnes and Nobles‘s sites, along with my online store at the Woolaston Entertainment site.
