On November 17, 2017, I released a new type of story. This story was completely different from anything I had ever written before. It involves a series of murders, psychics, and the occult. A young witch who finds herself in the middle of a neighbor’s domestic problems. A young woman who learns appearances can be deceiving. This story is The Witch of Fulton Lane.

The main character, Dylan Maycriss, is the young witch I mentioned above. She interprets tarot cards, can move objects with her mind, and has a strong psychic ability. She lives a quiet life in her house on Fulton Lane, until she receives new neighbors: Stephen and Josie Roman. While Stephen is content not to get to know any of his neighbors, Josie seeks Dylan out in an attempt to get to know her. What forms is an unusual bond between two strangers, who come to realize they need each other’s friendship more than anything.

I recently released the sequel to this story: The Age of the Daughter. In this story, Dylan battles a new brand of evil: a coven of women who are determined to bring about a new age in which women will be all powerful. In order to achieve their goal, their leader wants to use a young girl with remarkable abilities.

I first learned about “The Age of the Daughter” in Raven Grimassi’s book, Italian Witchcraft. I was planning to write a sequel to The Witch of Fulton Lane and I began reading books about the occult for research. Grimassi’s book contained a passage which spoke of The Age of the Daughter: “There shall be an awakening in the awareness of women, and their wills shall be asserted. Laws will change and women shall, walk in the ways of men.” That passage stayed with me. I wasn’t sure of what role it would play in my writing, but I kept it in mind.

Then, the Me Too Movement began to pick up speed. Men like Harvey Weinstein, who had been accused of rape and sexual assault, were finally being prosecuted. As I watched these events unfold in the media, I began to think about the passage from Grimassi’s book again. Laws will change and women shall, walk in the ways of men. At last I knew what my sequel was going to be about.
