Valentine 4: Past and Present May Be the Best in the Series

Warning! There are spoilers ahead if you’ve never read the Valentine series!

The fourth book in the Valentine series is currently available to read on the Woolaston Entertainment Patreon page. This book, subtitled Past and Present, picks up where Queen of Hearts (book three) leaves off: Val is in the hospital recovering from her gunshot wound and everyone is trying to figure out who shot her. Lola is still thinking about her father’s murder which took took place in front of her when she was a child, Mac is beginning to recall details of her mother’s disappearance and Val must reconcile with what her grandfather has done. Then there’s Michael Aldus: a sneaky member of the Syndicate who seems hell bent on getting rid of both Val and Rafferty.

Needless to say, there’s a lot going on in this book.

Valentine 4

Past and Present deals with several emotions. Everyone’s past experiences are being brought into the light, whether they like it or not. The only way for these characters to move forward is by looking back and dealing with their unresolved issues. Val will have to confront her grandfather. Lola will have to come to terms with her father’s death. Allan will have to help Mac cope with the conditions of both of their parents. Only after they each put their pasts behind them, will they be ready to take on their common enemy: Rafferty.

So, why would I consider Past and Present the best book in the series? Many emotional connections between the characters are presented here. We get a glimpse into who Val really is and what matters to her. And, Allan’s love for his sister Mac and his girlfriend Lola is explored.

You can read Past and Present on Patreon one chapter at a time by becoming a patron. You can also purchase a paperback edition from Woolaston Entertainment, and a paperback or ebook edition on Amazon. It’s also available through Google Books.
