Hello, folks. I bring good news from the world of Woolaston Entertainment. The other day I was searching for a topic for the Monday Topic, which gets posted every Monday (time permitting) on the Woolaston Writing Workshop blog. I decided to talk about whether or not writers should publish an omnibus. For anyone who isn’t aware, an omnibus is a collection of published work that was previously published separately. There are several benefits to publishing one, including renewed interest in a series and potential sales. I’ve been toying around with the idea of publishing a Fortune’s Wing omnibus for some time now, and I finally decided to do it.

Fortune’s Wing was my first published book and my first series. I have to admit, once it was completed, I didn’t really give it the attention it deserved. It’s been sitting in the back seat for a long time now, and that’s something I want to correct. I recently began combing through the manuscripts of the three books in the series and making corrections. In fact, this gave me an opportunity to upload those corrections to the current editions of the books, both paperback and ebook.

Why am I publishing an omnibus? I mentioned in a previous post there is a fourth unpublished book in the Fortune’s Wing series. It focuses on Fortune’s life after he and his friends return from their final journey; their attempts to get back to normal lives. It’s not as exciting as the other three books, but looking at it now I do believe it is worthy of being published. Including it in the omnibus will be a great way for anyone who isn’t familiar with the series to have the entire series in one book.

The fourth book, Fortune’s Wing: After , will take some polishing. I’m working on this, along with my other writing projects, but I expect the omnibus to be available by late fall. As always, I’ll keep you posted.
