One of my favorite characters I created is Erin Michaels from the Our Lady of Righteous Rage series. She, like most of the cast of Our Lady, is a character I created long before I wrote the series. I always sort of knew I wanted Erin to stand out in some way, but I wasn’t sure of how to go about accomplishing that. Then I started writing Novocaine, and I found a way to give Erin her voice. Her book is the reason I created the Our Lady Companion series. Because she is a Goth and represents my Gothic side, I decided to give her a Halloween themed series. I’m glad I wrote both and I’m glad I created her.
