I’ve been writing ever since the day I learned how to write. When I was younger, I wrote a ton of books for myself. As I got older, my quality of my books improved: they morphed from typing paper and construction paper stapled together, to lined journals and notebooks. I didn’t realize it at the time, but I was creating something I could build on as an adult.
Fortune’s Wing, Valentine, and Our Lady of Righteous Rage, all started out as hand-written books. They were written in journals, with covers I created and glued onto the front, and laminated with clear packing tape. Those hand-written creations gave me the starting points I needed to write the books that eventually published. If I could, I’d go back in time, find 12 year old me, and tell her, “Everything you’re doing is awesome and please don’t stop!”
All that time spent writing and creating, paid off. Here we are: Woolaston Entertainment’s anniversary month, looking back on the books that helped it grow from a little idea to a blossoming business. Here’s to 24 years of writing and creating.
