Let’s face it: 2020 has not been one of our better years. It’s been LOADED with challenges. There have been wicked hurricanes, the Coronavirus, more political chatter than you can shake a stick at…and let’s not forget the wildfires out in the West. With everything that has happened, it’s easy to lose your focus, feel overwhelmed and depressed, and feel as though you don’t have a sense of direction. That’s why I wanted to take a moment to remind you of something, just in case you’ve forgotten.
You’re Great.
That’s right. You. You’re great. If you already know this, then hold on to it. If you forgot, I want you to remember. If you never had any idea, I’m telling you now. You’re great.
You’re great because you get up everyday, despite all of the chaos. You’re great because you’ve decided to continue being you, in a world that loves to tell people who they should be. You’re great because no matter how much you may fail, you keep on trying. You’re great because maybe you have a job you can’t stand, but you show up everyday anyway. You’re great because you’re helping your kids with their homework, even though you haven’t done algebra in years and it feels like a foreign language to you. You’re great because you’re here; you exist.
No matter how tough things seem, no matter how much you may want to give up, don’t. Keep going. Keep writing, keep creating, keep working, keep learning….keep living. Don’t ever stop. Even if you feel like the rest of the world is against you, you’ve got ME in your corner. So keep going.
Have a great day, everyone.
