I decided to take a break from writing to get some reading done. My “To Read” list on Goodreads is a bit lengthy, and I’d like to start crossing off some of the titles. Yesterday, I read The Archer by Paulo Coelho. I seldom read a book in under an hour (the only other one is Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck), but I read this one fairly quickly. I posted a review on Goodreads and I’d like to share it here:
“If you never take the risk, you will never know what changes you need to make”. I sat and read this book in under an hour, which is unusual for me. I need to read it a second time, and probably a third. Coelho’s writing is always deep and inspiring, and I always come away with a sense of zen. “The Archer” makes you pause after each entry, and take a moment to think about what you have just read. You need a minute to absorb it. It’s simply written, but very deep. His advice to surround yourself with allies; not just people who are doing the same thing you are doing, but people who have a goal and a purpose is something that will probably stay with me forever. This book left me with a feeling I can’t put into words; everyone needs to read it. |
Coelho’s latest book is available online as well as in bookstores, and I’m sure your local library has a copy, too!

Looking forward to your updates and review!
