Hello, there! It’s me, Ebunnygirl: your friendly neighborhood guest blogger on Woolaston Entertainment. 2020 has been nothing short of a dumpster fire, and while I’m ready for it to come to an end, there are a few things about it I’m thankful for. I’m thankful for all of the new books I discovered and read (which reminds me, I seriously need to update my Goodreads page to reflect the books I finally finished). One such book is from my fav indie author, Nicole Woolaston. She’s the author of several series, with Our Lady of Righteous Rage being one of my favorites. She published a series of “companion books” to this series: books that focus on one or more characters from the original series. They can be read along with the main series or separately. This year she published one featuring my favorite character from the Our Lady series: Aidan Sirci. Aidan is the star of the hilarious and touching I Probably Should Have Kept That To Myself.

I Probaby finds Aidan heading to Las Vegas with his brothers: a group of guys he has very little in common with and doesn’t spend much time with. Things start out smoothly enough, but the unspoken tension among the foursome begins to rise as alcohol-induced conversations bring out certain truths none of them were prepared to deal with. If you’ve ever read an Our Lady book, you already know how sarcastic Aidan can be. Mix that with alcohol and a closed in space (the hotel suite), and you have the perfect recipe for trouble.

We’re the products of parents who didn’t know how to care about us, because nobody ever cared about them. They couldn’t give love because they never received it.

Aidan is my favorite because the most traumatic things happen to him, and he still finds a way to deal with it using his wit and sense of humor. I think out of all the Our Lady characters, he does the most growing as a person. This new book is listed as “guys’ fiction”, but I think anyone who reads it will connect with it and enjoy it.
