What do writers do? They WRITE. All the time, as often as possible. I began writing books when I was very young and continued to write into my adulthood. I combed through the books I write between 2001 and 2007, and later, 2010, and decided to rewrite some of them and get them ready for publication. Of course, I didn’t want to publish everything I had written. Most of my writing didn’t seem good enough to me. Looking back now, I’m rethinking that attitude because everything can be tweaked.

Between 1996 and 2007 I wrote nine series, including a five book series spinoff of Fortune’s Wing called Haverdy O. This series focused on Fortune’s sister Haverdy as she and her friends try to navigate the road to adulthood. The stories take place after the events in the Fortune’s Wing series. It features familiar characters such as Haverdy Oyama, Esrieve Fullerton, Narumi Hime (Nirogetai in the unpublished versions) and Kazumi Ogata. There are a few characters readers of FW won’t recognize, like Russia Proust and her brother Italy, and the Kowalski twins Germany and Berlin.

So here’s a little about the books in the series:

Haverdy O.

Book #1: Introducing Haverdy O: Haverdy and friends are trying to enjoy their summer vacation and make plans to go to college in the fall. Haverdy and Russia get part time jobs and all four girls (Haverdy, Russia, Kazumi and Esrieve) get accepted to the local community college. Haverdy has a boyfriend named Ferrari Bravo, who’s parents don’t seem to be very impressed with Haverdy. Still, Haverdy decides the best thing she can be is herself.

I’m planning to post this series on Patreon, so I won’t post any spoilers here. Instead I’ll just provide a little bit of info about the remaining four books.

Book #2: College Blues: Haverdy and friends begin their first year of college.

Book#3: Love and Happiness(is just a song!): Haverdy has doubts about her relationship with her boyfriend, and there may be a new crush on the horizon.

Book #4: Identity Crisis: Haverdy and Russia question whether or not they need to be more feminine.

Book #5: Haverdy on the Move: Haverdy and company contemplate asserting their independence by moving.

Fun Fact: Haverdy Oyama’s short hairstyle was the inspiration behind Val’s haircut in the Valentine series

The published versions of Fortune’s Wing: Second Flight and Fortune’s Wing: Flies Again will land on Patreon first, followed by Fortune’s Wing: After. Look for the Haverdy O series in upcoming months.
