New Year’s Eve is almost upon us. This is the time of year people generally pause to reflect on what they accomplished during the year, and anything they wish they had done differently. As a writer, I like to look back and see what I accomplished in the world of writing and publishing. Some years have been better than others; the Pandemic certainly affected much of my work. But, I managed to pull myself together, and slowly but surely, I did some writing and got a few things done. Thankfully, it’s time to kick 2023 out the door. I’m looking forward to 2024, but first, I’ll go through Woolaston Entertainment’s year, month by month.
January
This was the year of the Woolaston Entertainment Patreon Page! To start things off, I began posting Valentine 2: The Patron Saint, chapter by chapter.
February
Allan and Mac, the first in the Valentine Apart series, made it’s debut on Patreon.
March
A Theft on Canvas wrapped up on Patreon, and I gave a few updates regarding other writing projects. Homeward Bound and A Theft on Canvas were released in paperback form.
April
Valentine 3: Queen of Hearts made its way to Patreon, and I gave my readers a sneak peek at Valentine R.
May
Valentine 4: Past and Present was posted on Patreon. It’s probably the best book in the original series.
June
June Parris’s latest book, The Ressurection of Georgia was published. The final book in the Valentine series, Valentine 5: The Queen’s Fold, was posted on Patreon. This was in order to pave the way for the Valentine R series.
July
Things were a little busier this month. Ebooks of Homeward Bound and A Theft on Canvas were released and there was a brief giveaway, along with ebooks of other Woolent titles. Jo Fuentes: The Black Queen was the next book to hit Patreon and I launched the very successful online store, Erin’s Bookshelf.
August
A new feature became available on Patreon and I had to take advantage: Collections. Posts of chapters of my books were able to be organized in a way that makes them easier for readers to find, so I was very happy about that. Plus, Jo Fuentes: Project Sleep was added to the Patreon collection.
September
I took a trip to New York this summer, and I found all of my old handwritten books. I decided to start sharing some info about them via “Writing Roots”, a blog series about the original concepts for my books and the other books I wrote that inspired them.
October
I talked a lot about the Fortune’s Wing series, and it’s unpublished spinoff, Haverdy O. The best part of the month: the release of Book One in the Valentine R series.
November
Fortune’s Wing: Second Flight was posted on Patreon, and the “Writing Roots” series focused on Our Lady of Righteous Rage.
December
“Writing Roots” wrapped up with Nyda Summit’s series and Novocaine, and three new journals from the Woolaston Entertainment Stationery Collection.
And that brings us to the end of 2023. 43 posts, 171 likes, 1,284 views and 4 published books: not a bad year. What’s in store for Woolaston Entertainment in 2024? Some audio books, maybe? Videos on the Patreon Page? The next book in the Valentine R series? Oh, I definitely have to take care of THAT ONE. I have a ton of plans and I’m working on executing them one by one. 2024 is going to be a great year.
