It feels good to finish something. I have several projects in the works, and I wasn’t sure which one I was going to complete first, but it looks like it’s going to be the tenth book in the Our Lady of Righteous Rage Companion series. I’m three chapters away from completing The Edwards Sisters. It began its debut on the Woolaston Entertainment Patreon page, and will be released in ebook and paperback form in late August. Truthfully, I’ve had the idea behind this book in my mind for a long time and I wasn’t sure of how I wanted to execute it. Recent developments within my family helped me find my way.
Serving as a companion to the upcoming book, Louder!, The Edwards Sisters features Our Lady’s Amy Edwards and her lesser known older sister Lana. The sisters visit their father and stepmother in Connecticut after their father calls to say their stepmother Liz is in the hospital. Liz has never been pleasant to be around, but the sisters decide to make the trip anyway, in hopes of seeing their father and spending time with each other. Spoiler alert: this trip is anything but sunshine and rainbows.
Everything else around me was blurry, except for my sister, who was sitting across from me, recalling an event I had been completely unaware of for years. —-Amy Edwards
Of all the books in the Companion series, I think I had the most fun writing this particular one (I Probably Should Have Kept That To Myself is a close second). I weave much of my own life and experiences into my writing, and this book is no different. Part of it is a reflection of my relationship (or lack of) with my own stepmother, who is not the nicest of people. While I believe readers will like Amy’s approach to the situation, I think they’ll really enjoy Lana’s outlook. She’s a character who has never been featured in any of the previous books, with the exception of a brief appearance in Biologicals 2. With so much focus on the band members and other main characters, it was nice to focus on a lesser known character for a change.

As I mentioned before, the ebook and paperback are coming soon. Until then, you can become a patron on my Patreon page and started reading The Edwards Sisters chapter by chapter. Until next time…
