Hello everyone! It’s me: Eve “Ebunny” Lauren, writing my first post for Woolaston Entertainment. I wanted to give a shout-out to indie authors. I’m happy to see self-publishing and small press publishers have gained much more traction within the past few years. I remember a time when readers didn’t pay much attention to indie pubs, because someone once declared self-published authors weren’t “real authors”. BOO!!! How could anyone think that? I read the work of well-known authors, but I prefer indie authors and books from small press publishers. These are people who barely get any time in the spotlight, and they deserve some attention. They put just as much work into their craft as James Patterson and Stephen King. And for anyone out there who doesn’t think much of indie authors, remember this: every SOMEBODY started out as a NOBODY.
I have to thank my favorite indie author Nicole Woolaston for giving me space to post here on her site. I started reading her work a few years ago and I absolutely love her books. Its been fun to watch her grow as a writer, and I think her work gets better with each new book. I’m a fan of her “Valentine” series, and “Our Lady of Righteous Rage”. I recently finished “Valentine R Book Three” on her Patreon page. If you’ve never read her work, I’d say start with either “Valentine” or “Our Lady of Righteous Rage”. I’m a bit of a goth, so a goth chick who goes up against the mob was pretty appealing. And “Our Lady”? Punk rock and anthropomorphic cats? Hello! I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
If you’ve never read a book by an indie author I encourage you to pick one up! Aside from Nicole, you can also check out Lynessa Layne, author of the DCYE (Don’t Close Your Eyes) series. It’s got romance and suspense! If you’re looking for more—I hope you are!—check out some of the indie lists on Goodreads.
Thanks for the shoutout Ebunnygirl!
