Hello good readers, writers and fellow creatives! I hope you’re doing well on this fine September day. It’s the first of the month, and Fall is literally around the corner. I wanted to share some interesting information with you, concerning a recent scam I had to deal with. Someone posing as Lucy Fisher from Red Wagon Entertainment emailed me in reference to Allan and Mac. They claimed they were interested in turning my little book into some sort of project. Isn’t that great? Well, it would be if it wasn’t fake. At first I thought, WOW! Then my Spidey-sense kicked in and said, this is probably B.S. You smelled a set-up before and this smells just like a set-up.
A few things:
- Lucy Fisher wouldn’t contact me directly.
- Lucy Fisher wouldn’t contact me using her GMAIL.
- This person slipped up later and called me “Linda”.
I’ve had many fraudsters reach out to me but this one was very creative. The email sounded so sincere! But alas, it’s fake. To anyone out there who has been contacted multiple times by people trying to run a scam, I hope you haven’t been discouraged. What I mean is, I hope you won’t allow too many negative interactions make you feel as though everyone is out to get you. One of these days you will make a positive, real connection, and so will I. So I’m going to laugh at this pathetic attempt to scam me out of info about my book, and move on.
Have a great day, everyone.
