When I first learned my beloved band Green Day was releasing a new album AND going on tour next year, needless to say, I became very, very excited. I mean, this is my FAVORITE BAND!!!! Whenever I’m able to go see them live in concert, I go. I even had an opportunity to meet Tre Cool and take a selfie with him. So, a new album? I’m all over that.

The single, Father of All Motherfuckers, from the upcoming album of the same name, is available for download. I downloaded a copy the other day, and today I finally listened to it. I listened to it all the way until the end. For the first time ever, I have mixed feelings about a Green Day song.

Normally, I hear a Green Day song for the first time, and fall in love with it right away. But this time was different. I had read some of the reviews posted by other listeners on Google Play, and some of them weren’t good. That made me worry for a moment, but I knew I needed to hear the song for myself anyway. It’s more pop than I expected. Yes, there’s some autotune going on that I’m not too crazy about, and the song is very different from anything else Green Day has put out in the past. But that’s a good thing. They can’t release the same music all the time. That would be boring, and their fans would begin to lose interest.
I’m going to give this song some more time. I think it’s going to grow on me. To be honest, whether it does or it doesn’t, when it comes to Green Day, I’m a ride-or-die kind of girl. They can put out a gospel album, and I’ll listen to it. I’m happy Green Day is still together, and still putting out new music.

Like most responsible adults, I do my best to manage my finances by making smart choices when it comes to spending money. If I don’t really need something, I think twice about purchasing it. Of course, you have to have a little bit of fun every now and then, right? If we didn’t have fun, life would be boring!
I was poking around on Hot Topic’s website, just to see if there was anything new that might catch my eye. I came across a Green Day t-shirt. Now, I don’t need a Green Day shirt, but I wanted a Green Day shirt, and this one looked pretty sweet: Billie Joe, Tre Cool and Mike, in black and white, from 1986. A good year. I was 4. Anyway…

Anyone who knows me, knows I have a TON of band tees. I mean, a TON. It’s borderline ridiculous. But I’m into music, and I’m into bands, so it just makes sense. I have 50 Green Day shirts already! (Okay, not 50, more like 6 or 7) I didn’t need another one. But, what the hell, right? So, I ordered it, and I patiently await it’s arrival in the mail.
Life is short. Enjoy it while you can. Buy stuff you don’t really need.
