Hello everyone! Sorry for the lack of posts over the past few days. I’ve been busy getting rid of things I no longer need, and getting some reading done. It’s officially Spring and I have been doing a lot of Spring Cleaning. Plus I’m gathering materials for the return of the Woolaston Writing Workshop, which generally restarts in May and I finally finished updating this website. I hope all of you are enjoying the Spring, and we’ll catch up more later.
Happy Tuesday, everyone! And Happy Saint Patrick’s Day! Are you wearing green? I am. I’m wearing my “Irish Ish” shirt I bought from Old Navy a few years ago. Why? Because I want to. No, seriously, I’m wearing it because it’s actually true. My Great Great Grandmother Jane Thompson was born in Ireland. I came across this information years ago while searching for information at City Hall in New York on behalf of my grandfather. Up until that moment I had no idea I had any relatives who were born in Ireland. So, when I saw the shirt at Old Navy I decided to rock it. Happy Saint Patrick’s Day, everyone!
How are we getting three Friday the 13ths in one year? How. I ask you?! But it’s true. We had one last month in February, we’re having one today, and there’ll be another one in November. And this week leading up to Friday the 13th has been bizarre. On Wednesday it was 80 degrees in Hampton Roads. The sun was shinning. Even the birds were singing. Then Thursday hit. It started out in the 70s, then quickly dropped to 38. We went from a cloudy day, to a quick thunder storm…to SNOW! It actually snowed. This morning I had to scrape the ice off of my car. Yesterday I’m pretty sure I experienced every season within a few hours.
Still, its been a pretty okay day, aside from my WiFi going out on me several times, which is why this post is so late. I hope your Friday is going well, and I hope you have a wonderful weekend, everyone. See you on Monday.
Today’s Throwback Thursday post is dedicated to my mother, June Parris. March is her birthday month, and I have a picture of her from high school. It’s one of my … Continue reading The Cardozo High Alumni
I have spent the past few days working on the books pages on this site, and I think I’m done. Each page has information about the books, characters, facts and … Continue reading Spoiler Alert!
Good Monday morning everyone! I hope you had a great weekend. Daylight Saving took place yesterday morning, granting us an extra hour of daylight, but taking away an hour of … Continue reading Changes To The Website
Happy Friday, everyone! I’m so glad the weekend is finally here. Hopefully you have plans for what is supposed to be a nice weekend, especially if you live in the Hampton Roads area. Saturday is going to be warm; it seems like Spring has arrived ahead of schedule! As for me, I’m planning to do some Spring Cleaning. I’m going through my books and DVD’s and downsizing. I have several books I’ll probably never read again and movies I’ll probably never watch again, so they’ll get a new life in someone else’s hands. Plus I’m going through my notes and working on material for upcoming books, and I’m going to finish reading the books I borrowed from the library. It’s going to be a busy weekend.
Have a great weekend, everyone.
I just wanted to share this photo because I think it’s cute. This is me, still in pampers, attempting to read a book. No, I hadn’t learned to read yet, … Continue reading Look! She’s Reading…Sort Of
